What changed since the last start
Dropped from a 10° TaylorMade Qi4D driver head at the FedEx St. Jude the week before to an 8° head at Bellerive, per Golf.com, which notes he has now won with three different lofts of the Qi4D. Golf.com says the putter was unchanged.

- Clark’s strokes-gained putting rank differs between GOLF.com (sixth) and Golf Digest (tenth), so we’ve left it out.
Our take
This is Tour Weekly’s opinion, not the player’s or any brand’s.
Clark’s bag is a true mix: a TaylorMade driver, Ping fairway woods, Titleist irons and wedges, and a Ping putter. That’s the lesson. Pick the best club for each job, not a matching set. Two things are worth copying. First, the driver loft. GOLF.com says he went from a 10° Qi4D head in Memphis to 8° at Bellerive and has now won with three different lofts of the same driver model. Our read: before you blame your swing, try a different loft in a fitting. Second, the putter. His Ping Scottsdale TEC Ally Blue Onset is a mallet built counterbalanced at 38 inches, per GOLF.com. If you’ve never tried a counterbalanced putter, we’d roll a few on the practice green and see how it feels.
